Responses to "a letter to a heartless landlord"

<message to Sue Bierman, San Francisco Board of Supervisors - from Kevin Barnard>
Sue -
I want to sincerely apologize for the tone of my letter to you dated 10-10-97.
I'm just soooo frustrated and angry right now about this eviction issue,
and in 4 short days I've gotten over 70 replies to my posting.
Most of them supportive. A few of them not so supportive.
Many of the stories might break your heart.
I'm very sorry if I offended you in any manner. I realize that you are a
true tenant's advocate, and I will do whatever I can to support you
on this matter. I just happen to use sarcasm as a form of self-medication.
I'm trying to make a big noise and help get people organized.
Respectfully,
Kevin Barnard
editor's note: I sent Sue a very mean sprited note on Friday Oct 10.
(see following) ...it was inappropriate... Kevin
Sue -
Gee, that doesn't sound encouraging at all. Am I hallucinating, or does
everything you are saying here seem to echo the "letter to a heartless landlord"
message I sent you? If I read between the lines, your email says
"Have a nice trip. I won't be looking for you when you fall."
Will someone in the San Francisco City Government IMMEDIATELY get
a grip on reality and STOP these unethical, immoral and unjustified evictions?
If a tsunami hits San Francisco tomorrow, will the Board of Supervisors respond
to the citizens' cries for help by simply raising their hands and saying
"We're very sorry you are going through this"?
Do something to stop these evictions. NOW. And by the way,
my vote was one that helped get you elected.
You're welcome,
Kevin Barnard
