I didn't note any commitment to social change in your letter.
I did note that now that the avaricious landlords are putting you, Sir,
on the street, you want the world to fall in behind you, and get organized.
Well, goodo. I hope they do. But, Kevin, I got the impression that you've
been going along, having your good life, and well, you've been awfully
busy to be involved with "other" matters.

OK, maybe that's what your generation needs to wake up. Maybe, the
totally self-interested "need for affordable space" to live may wake up
another generation of San Franciscans. I surely hope so.

Now imagine what it would be like if you only made $200 - 300 a week,
and where in the same position. It would really be tough, and no time or
knowledge of how to begin organizing. That would be real anxiety.

Kevin, I mean no disrespect, and I hope that you organize this town.

If you fail to do that because you get a new place, and are hassled with
the move, and your clients demands, and you get too busy again. Well. OK.
That's what happens to most people.

So please, with all due respect, let me give you a little advice. If you're
put out of the apartment. Follow-up. Have a friendly neighbor across
the street document the comings and goings of the landlord's kids.
Take pictures, particularly of their move-in. And, when they leave,
and an unsuspecting "new" tenant, moves in. Take pictures of that also.
If you can document all of that, I've got a kick-ass lawyer who would
love to take that case to trial. You'd maybe make some money, and maybe
get your place back. Potentially serious damages for "fraudulent" infliction
of Emotional Distress. And, the right case, handled well, might,
just might put a stop to this practice.

On the other hand, if the kids really are gonna live there, can you blame
the landlord. I mean heck they do own the building. It's their kids.
But, if they're out to defraud you brother, get them good for all of us.

Good Luck,

Ken

P.S. Incidentally welcome to the crowd. I just moved back here from NYC,
and I'm still living in a Hotel (five months) 'cause I can't find the right SOMA
loft live/work. But, I will. Just takin' more time than I thought it would. Not fun.
