Thank you for your message. I am very sorry you are going through this;
the housing market is in a real crisis right now, and tenants in every
income bracket are facing evictions so that their rents can be raised.
I co-sponsored legislation last fall to protect tenants from owner
move-in evictions, but as you are aware, there were not enough votes
on the Board of Supervisors for this measure to pass. I wish I had
encouraging news, but the climate these days is very bad for tenants.
You are doing the right thing in contacting other people and
organizations, and I hope that you will be successful in your efforts.
