Responses to "a letter to a heartless landlord"

I can't help you out with a new apartment; but, I can say this:
I received the same letter from my landlords under the same circumstances
in mid August. They required me to be out by end of Sept. I searched
frantically for a new place and realized I could not afford a comprable
apt. I wrote my landlords a letter the third week of Sept and told them
that I had not been able to secure another apt and that it was
impossible for me to move. I told them that I simply had no place to
go. On the first of Oct, I paid my rent as usual. They accepted the
check and now I am not even looking for a place. In all my letters I talk
about what a financial burden the situation is, and that I really need
six months in order to save enough money to move.
Start building your case now. Write letters indicating your willingness
to cooperate, be as nice as possible. It works. Whatever you do,
keep paying the rent. Good Luck.
