I am not usually one to subscribe to the vicitm mentality. I believe the
universe provides us with "gifts" in often times strange forms! AND, in
this particular circumstance, I believe the gift is for us to ban together
and stop tenant exploitation. To get under the skin of the rich folks who
are buying up buildings and turning the beautiful mecca of diversity and
culture in SF into a city for the extremely wealthy and the extremely poor.

I consider myself middle class and in the last 5 years, have seen a
ridiculous increase in rents, and now an eviction forcing me to live as I
were back in college with two or three roomates. I am all in favor of
community living but, what has happened in the last three years alone in
the rental market is enough to make me want to leave SF and find a more
reasonable place to live. Also among the topics that upset me are the lack
of landlords who will accept pets. 4-legged creatures are awesome forms of
love and comfort and I have seen a few of my friends send themselves to the
poorhouse buying homes because they couldn't find anyone who would take
their furry friends.

So, if there is a place that people can fight and change laws, it is in SF.
I am all in favor of surging ahead with some action. I open the forum for ideas.

cheers and blessings for happy homes to all!
