2013 Golden Gate Avenue
Since 1990, I have been providing graphic design services to a variety of businesses and organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. My professional experience includes: annual report and marketing collateral design for major corporations, medical groups, therapy clinics and vintners; package and poster design for toy and game companies; display and signage fabrication; corporate conference and speaker support programs; website design and management.
I was recently employed at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA as a contract book designer. This position was full-time temporary and I was there from February 2008 to May 2008. My primary duties involved designing and producing the 2008 Kaiser Permanente Performance Improvement Handbook, A Tools and Applications Guide for Project Teams. I was working directly with a Senior Project Manager and an Executive Director. The final product is a 442 page book including 145 visual tools and illustrations.
I was previously employed at Motorola in Emeryville, CA as a contract website developer and customer support representative. This position was full-time temporary and I was there from January 2006 to November 2007. During that time period I designed and developed over 400 websites for their partner's customers: AT&T, Yellowpages.com and Yellow Pages Group Canada. I was also on the front line serving customers calling in for support and assistance with their accounts and websites.
As a graphic designer and production artist with many years of professional experience, I will bring to your studio my extensive technical and artistic background. I have provided graphic design services to the high tech, medical and commercial products industries. I have worked in advertising agencies and design studios.
Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop are the applications I use on a daily basis. I have years of experience with QuarkXPress. I'm very skillful with an x-acto knife and I'll pick up a pencil to sketch out ideas. I've refined my computer skills over many years of professional experience and I am as comfortable on a Windows PC as I am on a Mac. I have an excellent command of the English language and an aptitude for quality assurance and detail.
Teamwork is important to me. My work with small agencies as well as being a participant within large corporate organizations has given me the experience that allows me to coordinate with many different kinds of groups. I also work solo from my home studio and have an intrinsic understanding of collaborating one on one with clients, both face to face and remotely via telephone and the Internet. I enjoy focusing on a single job for an extended period of time, but am generally in a position where prioritizing many different jobs with different deadlines is necessary.
